Crossaig Lodge
Welcome to Crossaig Lodge luxury Bed and Breakfast on Kintyre. Located on the east side of the Kintyre Peninsula, a few miles south of Skipness, Crossaig Lodge is a Georgian estate house set in 3 acres of mature gardens overlooking the Kilbrannan Sound and the Island of Arran.
We are ideally located for the Kintyre Way and Arran Ferry and within easy drive of the Islay Ferry. After 10 years at Balinakill Hotel, Chef Angus Macdiarmid and his wife Susan now continue the traditions of friendly hospitality and great food at Crossaig Lodge, where delicious dinners are on offer as well as comfy beds and superb breakfasts.
Boat trips, angling, diving, stalking, golf and clay pigeon shooting can be arranged locally whilst relaxing therapies are available at Crossaig by prior booking.
When you have been out and about for the day we have storage and drying facilities for bicycles, boots, bags, rucksacks and walking gear. Secure storage for guns is also available.
Pick up and drop off is offered on a complimentary basis to Claonaig Pier, Skipness and the Oakwoods Car Park.

- Spectacular sea views from all rooms
- A real haven of relaxation and comfort
Home grown produce always used:
At Crossaig Lodge, breakfasts, packed lunches, afternoon 'tea and buns' and dinners are all lovingly home made from the very best fresh produce we can source to give you a real Taste of Kintyre.
Angus held an AA Rosette for several years at Balinakill and the combination of his skills and our produce is "chust sublime". We use as much of our home grown fruit and vegetables as possible; eggs are from our own free-range-bordering-on-wild hens; we now have a boat, so with rod, line and half a dozen creels, leisure(?) time is well spent and, of course, local game, lamb, beef and smoked fish are well represented on our table.
Breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner
We are very happy to cater for special diets with prior notice; vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free...No Problem! Home baking and puddings are a house speciality.
At Crossaig we have three luxury bedrooms, all with lovely sea views.
Skipness, has a King size Vi sprung bed and private bath room.
Arran, a suite consisting of bedroom, shower room and sitting room. The bedroom has a double Vi sprung bed and the sitting room also has a sofa bed, so four can be accommodated, if required.
Kilbrannan, which has a separate entrance and has a shower room and can accommodate three, either as a triple room or as a king size and single.

What to do in the local area
Crossaig is on the quiet, winding, B842, almost four miles south of the Arran Ferry at Claonaig, from where a further five mile drive will bring you to the A83 and the Islay Ferry. To the North of Claonaig is the picturesque village of Skipness with beach, Seafood Cabin, the ruined Skipness Castle and Skipness Chapel. There are excellent walks here through the Estate and along the Shore and, of course, the ten mile stretch of the Kintyre Way leading to Tarbert. This Walk also heads south, towards Crossaig, turning off west at the Oak Woods Car Park.
Crossaig is 10 miles north of Carradale with its scenic golf course, harbour, beach and gold foundry and beyond that, at Torrisdale, there is an organic tannery where they produce fine sheepskin articles. Saddell Abbey is well known and the beach there was the location for the famous Mull of Kintyre video. There are riding stables at Peninver and Carradale.
Campbeltown has many attractions, the Owl Centre, the Heritage Centre, Grant Logan Goldsmith and the world famous Springbank Distillery.
Machrihanish Championship Golf Course is here and the latest addition the the peninsula' s tally of courses, Machrihanish Dunes.
On the West side of Kintyre there are glorious views to the islands, fabulous beaches including Westport, beloved of surfers, and the ferry to the tranquil island of Gigha. The quaint and historic fishing village of Tarbert is at the north end of the peninsula.
