Cringletie Hotel
Cringletie House is a luxurious and romantic small country house hotel in the Scottish Borders.
Just 20 miles south of Edinburgh, our idyllic rural setting allows our guests to escape the stress and noise of everyday life, without having to drive hours to do so. With 4 red stars , we're the only AA Top Hotel (Inspector's Choice) in the Scottish Borders. Equally, no other hotel south of Edinburgh has been awarded 4 gold stars by Visit Scotland.
We've a very good reputation for weddings and other celebrations. We are happy to arrange activities and experiences like fishing, golf and spa treatments. Or we can just leave you alone to unwind, while you enjoy the pleasures of our fine food and 28 acres of grounds.
Cringletie is open all year round, including Christmas and New Year. We welcome well-behaved children and dogs, and we have two rooms where dogs can be accommodated. The hotel is fully wheelchair-accessible, with many facilities for guests with a disability.
Top Reasons to Stay:
- Luxurious and romantic small country house hotel
- 4 Red Stars
- We are all about comfort, relaxation and personal touches
- 19th-century Scottish Baronial atmosphere with 21st-century comfort
- Superb bedrooms from romantic turret rooms to grander suites
Our restaurant is open for dinner from 7.00 to 9.00 pm although we happily accommodate guests who would like to dine a little earlier. It is open to both residents and non-residents.
The à la carte menu is ambitious without being daunting, exciting without being outlandish. Our menus change with the seasons and use fresh local, Scottish produce wherever possible. Many of the vegetables are freshly picked from our own walled kitchen garden.
If you really want to treat yourself, we offer a seven-course tasting menu, a sublime feast of some of the best cooking in the Scottish Borders.
On Sundays, the restaurant is also open for our popular, traditional lunch. Again, this is open to non-residents as well as those staying in the hotel.
The bedrooms at Cringletie all have their own history and individual character. There are romantic turret rooms and attic rooms, larger deluxe rooms, and the new luxurious Selkirk Suite.
All our bedrooms are furnished differently and to the highest standards. The soft furnishings, with their earthy tones, reflect the colours of the Borders countryside and the Scottish landscape. Each room has an exceptional view of the grounds and the softly rolling hills beyond.
To add to the general spirit of luxury and self-indulgence, we offer guests in our Deluxe Rooms, Junior Suites and the Selkirk Suite a variety of spa treatments in the privacy of their own room.
Facilities
All our bedrooms have wall-mounted flatscreen TV, and high-speed internet access (LAN) and WiFi, as well as the usual facilities like trouserpress and phone. There are fruit bowls and mineral water in all rooms.
Corporate Meetings And Events:
Sometimes at work, you just need to get away from it all. Whether it's team-building, training, an important meeting or a conference, it's usually better to take staff away from their ingrained work habits and the sound of phone ringing.
At Cringletie House, we have extensive experience of organising corporate events. We have state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, excellent conference facilities, and competitive conference rates.
Simply tell us how you want the day to run, and we will put everything in place to achieve that. Lunch could be soup and sandwiches brought into the meeting, a formal lunch in the Sutherland Room, or anything in between. Dinner can be served at any time.
You can book the whole house if you want complete exclusivity and seclusion. And if you want to vary the day with team-building activities and adventures, we regularly work with outside activity companies, like Adventure Sports and the Team Challenge Company.
To discuss any ideas for a corporate event, don't hesitate to contact us.
