Ulsterbus operate a twice daily coach service from Belfast Bus Centre to the Stena-line Terminal for the HSS superferry crossing to Stranraer. There are then connecting bus services from Stranraer to Ayr and onwards to Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The total journey time can take from 6 hours upto 7.5 hours depending on the route chosen.
