Our public rooms consist of two drawing rooms, dining room and conservatory, all are furnished for your comfort and relaxation, with comfortable seating, wonderful views, log fires and lots of books and island literature at hand to help you plan your stay.
Pre-dinner drinks are served in the two drawing rooms, giving you the opportunity to chat and exchange stories with other guests - or make yourself at home on the large cosy sofas, read a book, gaze at the stunning views and plan your next day.
The diningroom is always lit by candles in the evening making it very romantic with the tables set individually. We have a warm and friendly house party atmosphere and if you want this it is good fun, if you don't, it is easy not to partake as the decor and feel of the adjoining conservatory is the same - with the addition of the growing vine and also the view across the loch during the summer nights.
Tiroran House Hotel is the ideal central base to discover the Isle of Mull. Mull is a deceptively large island and there is much to explore both by car and on foot.
Tobermory is 28 miles north of Tiroran - with its famous colourful houses, whisky distillery, lively pubs, shops and harbour. Whale watching trips depart from here and yachts moor before travelling onwards throughout the Western Isles .
In direct contrast - Head south and follow the road through the Ross of Mull to Iona which is 24 miles from Tiroran - with its famous Abbey, beautiful beaches and local walks.
Climbing a Munro - Ben Moreis the only Munro on the island and Tiroran rests by its foothills. On a clear day, you can see the mainland and Ireland. Other mountains such as Ben Talaidhare also well worth the climb, the scattered remains of a crashed WW2 Dakota still remain - But you can experience all levels of walking immediately from Tiroran house and we are happy to provide picnics so that you don't even have to move your car!
White tailed Sea Eagles, Golden Eagles and wild birds can all be spotted easily from Tiroran, along with otters and harbour porpoise basking in the bay, or wild deer that roam freely around the surrounding countryside.
Fishing, stalking (in season) diving, whale watching and wildlife trips as well as golf can be organised on the island but whatever your interest, if you discuss your personal requirements with us either before you arrive or whilst you are here, we can organise things for you or guide you in the right direction.
