The Hotel was originally the houses inhabited by the fishermen of Portree, some dating as far back as the reign of William IV. The restaurant is situated on the first floor of the hotel. The frontage boasts the most marvellous views across the Portree harbour and makes for the most idyllic meal, while watching the harbour activity or the sun setting during your evening meal.
The hotel employs, not one, but two first class chefs. They have between them years of experience and training which is most evident when you have a meal in the restaurant. This has been recognised by the awards of an AA Rosette and an entry in Taste of Scotland listings. In addition a number of other professional organisations notably Les Routiers, Ashley Courtenay and Signpost have given their sign of approval to the food, accommodation and services provided by the Rosedale Hotel.

When you visit the Isle of Skye you will find historic castles, beautiful scenery and a wealth of 'Things to do'. From climbing the famous Cuillins, with its magnificent terrane, the spectacular waterfalls and the natural wildlife.
If FISHING is what attracts you, Brown trout, Salmon and Sea Trout can be found in the waters surrouding Skye as well as the Mackerel shoals, which, at certain times can make fishing look easy.
