Kildonan Lodge is a friendly 4* small hotel which has been owned and operated since 1993 by the Urquhart family. At Kildonan you will find a warm and friendly atmosphere to which many guests return year after year.

Dining at our Hotel Restaurant - At Kildonan Lodge Hotel, Mathew's Restaurant offers a Dining Experience of the highest quality combining only the very best, fresh local produce.

Mathew brings a tantalising dinning experience that infuses Scottish food with French, American and South East Asian influences to create his own unique menu full of style and flair. He believes in preparing only the very best of local Scottish produce to create his innovative dishes.

In keeping with the grand style of the building we offer a variety of different accommodation, our bedrooms offer relaxing and comfortable surroundings in which to unwind.

Romantic Four Poster
Designed with romance in mind, our Four Poster rooms are our most popular and luxurious rooms. All offer elegant canopied four poster double beds complete with Jacuzzi spa bath ensuite, high ceilings and flat screen TVs. Perfect for any special occasion or a romantic weekend away.

Executive King
Our stylish, more contemporary Executive rooms add a hint of modern sophistication to the hotel. Rooms feature your choice from either king or twin beds and are all equipped with Jacuzzi spa bath ensuites to ensure a truly relaxing stay.

Standard Double/Twin
Each room has been tastefully decorated to complement the classical theme throughout the hotel. These rooms are configured with either double, twin or triple bedding.

Family Rooms
From our beautifully appointed Superior Green Tartan Family room to our smaller classic Family rooms, we comfortably cater for families. Our Superior Green Tartan room is our largest guest room featuring a lovely 4 poster double bed, large bay window, high ceilings and an ornate fireplace.

We are very single female friendy:  only black taxis, secure rooms, 24 hour security, well lit street, secure rear car park.

All rooms include full Scottish breakfast daily, free wireless internet, car parking, daily newspaper and complimentary sherry and shortbread.

We can also offer our "Garden Lodge".

The Garden Lodge is a perfect retreat for family re-unions, wedding parties, golf breaks, Hen/Pamper Weekends, Edinburgh City Breaks and friends who wish to stay together.

The Garden Lodge is situated at the rear of our luxury hotel, set back in our lovely gardens. It contains its own private conservatory and relaxing lounge, although our guests still have full access to all the facilities in the main hotel.

The three newly refurbished rooms are all en-suite. Two rooms contain SuperKing beds which can be converted into twin beds, and one room with a small double with shower ensuite.

The Garden Lodge can be sold per room for those guests who wish to have a quieter, more private stay or is the perfect retreat for family reunion groups, wedding parties, golf breaks, hen weekends, Edinburgh city breaks and friends who wish to stay together.

Kildonan Lodge Hotel is an ideal base for business travellers to Edinburgh city centre. Our regular business guests often refer to us as their ‘home away from home’. Here we know you by name, not by room number.

We offer a highly competitive rate for guests travelling to Edinburgh on business. Corporate rates start from just £65 per room per night (based on single occupancy Sunday – Thursday off peak).

Ideally located, only 1.5 miles from The Royal Mile and Princes Street, Kildonan Lodge Hotel is the ideal retreat for travellers wishing to enjoy a bit of bargain shopping, indulge in fine-dining experiences or explore historic Edinburgh with the many different sightseeing options on offer.

For corporate travellers we are conveniently located close to The Royal Infirmary, Roslin Institute, Royal College of Surgeons, EICC and Edinburgh Royal Observatory and within 5 minutes walking distance from Edinburgh University’s King’s Buildings, British Geological Survey, Scottish Agricultural College and Pollock Halls.

For guests arriving by car, we suggest you leave your car in our free private car park during your stay. The hotel is located on the main bus route for the following bus numbers: 3, 7, 8, 29, 31, 37 and 49 which frequently stop outside the hotel to/from the city centre. Edinburgh’s public transport system is excellent, very affordable and easy to use.

Edinburgh International Airport is about 30 minutes away and Waverley Train Station and St Andrews Bus Station are only a short taxi ride away.
