Located just off junction 6 of the M90 motorway in the heart of Scotland, Kinross is the ideal base for exploring St Andrews, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling and Perth – all within an hour’s drive.
Having started in the eighteenth century as a popular coaching inn on the main route north from Edinburgh the family owned Green Hotel has retained its reputation for warm hospitality and excellent service. The hotel offers 46 spacious double and twin bedrooms, AA rosetted restaurant, bar meals, Lounge and ample free car parking.
There are also two 18-hole Golf Courses – The Montgomery and The Bruce. Both courses deemed by many to be amongst Scotland’s hidden gems. Over the winter months why not try your hand at curling at our 4-sheet curling rink (available September – April). Alternatively, boats can be reserved for trout fishing on Loch Leven.
Guests staying at The Green Hotel have full use of Gravity Health & Leisure Club, located just across the road at our sister hotel, The Windlestrae. The multi-purpose gymnasium is packed with resistance equipment and cardio-vascular machines; treadmills; bikes, steppers and transporters. The indoor pool is 20 metres long and there’s a first class sauna, a substantial steam room, an invigorating bubble pool and beauty therapy rooms.

The hotel’s Loch Leven Suite has been custom designed to offer a number of flexible layout permutations. Undivided, this area makes 150sq metres of uninterrupted floor space, ideal for Banqueting, Award Ceremonies, Product Launch, Conferences, Meeting, Training Courses, Seminars andTeam Building – up to 130 delegates theatre style, in considerable comfort. Whilst having direct access to the main hotel and its facilities, the Loch Leven Suite is completely self-contained, with its own bar, cloak rooms and satellite kitchen. Smaller meetings are accommodated in either the Green Isle or Gairney rooms, both located on the ground floor or in our first floor Boardroom. A range of attractive packages for residential conference and business functions are available and can be tailor made to suit all of your needs. For weddings, we can help make sure every last detail suits your tastes, and your budget. As well as the two 18-hole golf courses, 4-sheet curling rink (Sept-Apr) and trout fishing on Loch Leven, there is a host of outdoor activities available for you and the whole family to enjoy – quad biking, laser clays, archery and abseiling all available within the grounds of Kinross Estate. Horse riding and the Scottish Gliding School are just a short drive away. Kinross-shire, is a beautiful county bordered by Perthshire, Fife and Clackmannanshire. Set amidst gently rolling hills it is the ideal location for hillwalking, golf, cycling, fishing, bird watching or just relaxing and enjoying the beauty of Scotland. Known as the gateway to the Highlands, Kinross-shire nestles around Loch Leven where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned in 1567 on Castle Island. You can catch the boat to Castle Island from April – September. Whatever your interest and no matter what time of year you visit, Kinross and the surrounding area has something for everyone.
